If you suffer a power failure, critical windows crash or similar whilst Garage Assistant is running and reading/writing data, when you next attempt to launch the system a consistency check will be performed automatically.  Sometimes this will complete and proceed to open GA normally.

However, If for any reason this fails, you may get a message stating:


The file datafile_main.sws is either not part of this solution, or damaged.
Please run the recovery command.

GA4 is structured differently to previous versions of our system, with your Data separate from our UI and Logic.  This has allowed us to create an automated recovery system, should a problem be discovered with one of the core files.
In such circumstances you will be presented with the following screen:

Simply take note of the displayed information and click on "Run Automated Recovery"
GA4 will handle the rest automatically to get you back up and running.
